Marche IGT is the region-wide IGT title used in the Marche region of eastern central Italy. The appellation also covers a wide range of wine styles.
A Marche IGT Bianco may be made from any of the grape varieties approved for white wine in Marche. Marche IGT Rosato and Rosso have the same flexibility with Marche’s authorized red grapes. A still large subset of varieties are allowed for single-variety and double-variety labeled wines.
The wines may be made at different levels of sweetness, and all of the above permutations can be produced in semi-sparkling frizzante or sparkling spumante form. Novello versions can be produced in all three colors for early consumption. Passito can be made in all three colors, as can late harvest Vino da Uve Stramature (wine from overripe grapes).
